Grassby Funeral Service opened in Shaftesbury in 2025. The branch was founded by Grassby & Sons who are a long-established family run business stretching back to 1861, with their main office at Grassby Funeral Service in Dorchester.
Grassby Funeral Service in Shaftesbury work closely with Grassby & Close Funeral Service in Sturminster Newton and Colin J. Close Funeral Service in Blandford Forum, where they have a chapel of rest.
The branch is looked after by Tania White (Cert FP) and Juliet Medland.
Tania lives in Sturminster Newton and previously worked at Grassby & Close Funeral Service. Juliet lived in Shaftesbury for over 30 years and now lives in Gillingham, but still has strong connections with the town.

All branches are supported by the masonry works at Grassby Memorials located just outside Dorchester in the village of Grimstone which has been operating since 1861.
